Brian\'s family hosts the annual Brian Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament in support of The Ottawa Hospital Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program. The BMT Program is a regional transplant centre that performs approximately 110 transplants per year.
The idea of honouring her father\'s life by supporting the Hospital struck a chord with Celia, who found a joyful yet simple way to include Brian in the wedding plans.
Instead of offering their wedding guests traditional favours, guests found a card at each spot on each table. The card explained that a donation had been lovingly made to The Ottawa Hospital BMT Program in memory of Brian and as a thank-you for their presence at the wedding.
Community support allows the BMT Program to fund educational, research and patient care initiatives that would not otherwise be possible. With this support, the BMT Program continues to pursue academic, research and educational activities, while continuing to provide the best possible care to patients.
\"We wanted to give something unique that truly represented what\'s important to us - and that\'s family,\" says Celia. \"Any way that we can give back to The Ottawa Hospital, we will. Everyone agreed that this was a wonderful way to remember Dad. And it was perfect.\"
